Lighter shade of black?
Hello.
I have a Monk with Obsidian armor and I'm wondering if there are any dye combinations that could dye my armor the shade of black the black dyes were before ArenaNet darkened them.
I seem to recall a patch that had darkened the shade of black from the black dyes. However, I do not know for sure. So if this is untrue, then I'm just looking to dye my armor a lighter shade of black.
Any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Okay. Thank you for clarifying. I thought I read something about it when I was looking at Assassin armor.
I've tried both dye combinations already. Black and silver turns into more of a dark blue. Black and white turn into more of a brown. I'm thinking two blacks, one white and one silver is the closest I'll get, but I'm hoping for a better combination.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but I think I may have found the solution to my problem. Could someone post up a screenshot of an ''old black'' dyed armor set? I would like to compare.
Thanks in advance.

Old black is no longer possible to be reproduced for many armors, the update changed how the clear black looks like and screwed up whole dye mixing completely. Unfortunately I don't have any old black armor to screenshot.

Well, here is what I came up with: http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/2073/gw001v.jpg
I think it's pretty damn close, but I don't know what the ''old black'' really looks like. I would still like a screenshot to compare to, but if nobody can present one, then I won't pester everyone for them.

Other types of "black" that I made from messing around that wasn't really black were:
- Green and purple
- Blue and Orange
- Blue+Orange+Brown
- Green+Purple+Brown
I don't actually have any of the dyes right now so I can't show you a screen shot, but maybe someone else who does can show you the dye preview.
